Lumos Art is an AI-powered creative application that allows users to generate personalized avatars, stickers, emojis, and stunning visual content. Beyond image generation, the app also supports AI-assisted sound and music creation, making it a comprehensive tool for artistic exploration
Shaping the foundation
When I joined Lumos Art, the product was still in its infancy, with only basic avatar creation and registration flows in place. There was no structured user journey, and no prior design research had been conducted. My first task was to analyze the existing structure, identify key areas for improvement, and establish a foundation for future growth.
Through close collaboration with the client, I mapped out the primary user journey and pinpointed opportunities to introduce new features like sticker and emoji generation, as well as music creation. My objective was to ensure that every new functionality felt like a natural extension of the existing ecosystem while maintaining a coherent and user-friendly experience.
Balancing clarity and complexity
Balancing flexibility and simplicity was a key challenge in Lumos Art, which offered multiple AI-powered tools. To solve this, I designed a modular yet consistent system with shared UX patterns, reducing cognitive load and making interactions intuitive. Progressive disclosure and contextual recommendations guided users while maintaining creative freedom.
Key takeaways
Lumos Art challenged me to design for an evolving product without predefined frameworks. I had to balance structure and creative flexibility while ensuring a seamless user experience across multiple AI-powered tools.
Key insights from this project:
Structure drives usability – A modular yet consistent system helped simplify complex interactions.
Consistency enhances learning – Keeping UX patterns uniform across different AI tools made the platform more intuitive.
Iteration is key – Early user testing would have further refined workflows and improved engagement.
This experience strengthened my approach to designing scalable, multi-functional platforms. I look forward to applying these insights to future projects.
